Removals Camden Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the actions taken by Removals Camden to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Removals Camden is committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and with respect for human rights. We recognise our responsibility to identify, prevent, and address risks of modern slavery and we continually work to strengthen our approach.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removals Camden provides residential and commercial removals, storage, and associated logistics services. Our activities rely on a range of suppliers and contractors, including vehicle and equipment providers, facilities and storage partners, packaging material suppliers, and labour and recruitment agencies. We understand that the risk of modern slavery can exist at multiple tiers of the supply chain, particularly where temporary or subcontracted labour is used or goods are sourced from higher risk regions.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Removals Camden operates a clear, zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We do not accept such practices in our own operations or within any part of our supply chains. Any employee, contractor, or supplier found to be involved in modern slavery, or to have failed to take reasonable steps to prevent it where it could be expected, will face appropriate action which may include termination of employment or contract. Our zero-tolerance stance is communicated throughout the business and forms part of the standards we expect from every supplier and business partner.
Policies and Governance
Our commitment is supported by internal policies that set expectations for ethical conduct, fair treatment, and safe working conditions. These include policies on recruitment, equal opportunities, health and safety, and whistleblowing. Managers are responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance within their teams, while senior leadership provides oversight and ensures that modern slavery risks are considered in key business decisions. We aim to embed respect for human rights into our culture through training, communication, and accountability.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Removals Camden seeks to work only with suppliers and contractors who share our values. As part of our due diligence, we assess new and existing suppliers for potential modern slavery risks. This may include requiring confirmation of their own modern slavery policies, requesting information about labour practices and sourcing arrangements, and reviewing publicly available information about their conduct. Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits, either remotely or on site, to verify compliance with our standards. These audits may cover worker documentation, working hours, wages, recruitment fees, subcontracting practices, and health and safety conditions. If concerns are identified, we expect timely corrective actions and may suspend or end relationships where serious or persistent issues are not resolved.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that preventing modern slavery requires awareness and vigilance. Removals Camden provides relevant staff, especially those involved in procurement, operations, and recruitment, with training on identifying indicators of modern slavery and understanding our response procedures. We promote open dialogue so that employees feel confident raising concerns and understand that they will be supported in doing so.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Removals Camden encourages anyone who has concerns about potential modern slavery, whether within our business or in our supply chains, to report them without delay. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting lines, including line managers or senior management, or via our whistleblowing procedures, which allow individuals to report in confidence. Reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against those who report concerns in good faith or who assist with investigations.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that the risks and manifestations of modern slavery evolve over time. Removals Camden is committed to continuous improvement in our approach. Each year we review the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence processes, risk assessments, training, and supplier engagement. This annual review considers any incidents reported, audit findings, changes in our operations or supply chains, and developments in best practice and legislation. Where necessary, we will update our policies, strengthen controls, and set new objectives to further reduce the risk of modern slavery.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Removals Camden and will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis to reflect our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and protecting human rights.
